GBAHR’s protest rally yesterday (20th August, 2024) was spontaneously attended by a significant number of expatriate Bangladeshis at Altab Ali Park in London. They protested and raised their own voices.
In the rally, GBAHR convener and editor of weekly Surma newspaper Shamsul Alam Liton said, Awami League has become a public enemy now. The massacre that Sheikh Hasina has started against our people including our children cannot end without paying the blood debt. He called upon Bangladeshi diaspora to raise their voice in unity. In addition, the one-sided and defamatory statements of Indian diplomats were strongly criticized in his speech.
Other speakers also strongly condemned the ongoing killings in Bangladesh and expressed their desire for the cooperation of the international community.
The rally, in collaboration with GBAHR’s sister organization Bangladesh Solidarity Campaign, concluded with the hope that the undemocratic and illegitimate regime would end soon.
